Fender background information:
With his innovative solid body design as an alternative to the hollow body electric guitars of the time, Leo Fender created something totally new and ground-breaking. The Telecaster introduced in 1951 was the instrument designed and its unique sound would weave its way into the very heart of Rock’n’Roll. In 1954, Fender followed the Telecaster with another pioneering creation, the Stratocaster – probably the guitar that is identified most with the Fender name and arguably the most influential guitar. The Stratocaster’s design was so successful that it has remained largely unchanged to this day and has been linked to famous names like Ray Davies, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix to name a few. As a point of interest Tim Marten has toured with Ray Davies and in the 1960’s Ray Davies used a Fender Telecaster for the majority of his career with The Kinks
Other models that Fender is famous for (many of which we have serviced and repaired) includes Jaguar, Mustang, Squier, Starcaster, Duo-Sonic and Jazzmaster as well as basses such as the Jazz, Jaguar, Mustang and Precision Bass. Tim Marten has toured with Roger Waters, the co-founder of Pink Floyd. Roger Waters’s main instruments is the electric bass guitar. He has played a few different makes and models but in the 1970’s he switched to the Fender Precision Basses.
Fender’s influence is felt from amplifiers, electric guitars to bass guitars and tools that still resonates to this day.
