Mandolin background information:
The most common form of mandolin has 4 courses of doubled metal strings (8 strings) that are tuned in unison although there are 5 course (10 strings) and 6 course (12 strings) versions. Among the many styles of mandolin the most common are the Neapolitan (or round backed), the carved top and the flat backed which are predominantly used in European classical and traditional music; American folk and bluegrass music; and Irish, British and Brazilian folk music respectively.
Washburn produce a series of electric mandolins under the series brand of 'Americana', which we can service and repair.
Collings also make mandolins in an A-Style and F-Style.
