Ukelele Repair & Servicing
The Ukulele is a Hawaiian instrument belonging to the guitar family. It was introduced to Hawaii by Portuguese immigrants, adapted from the Portuguese Machete. The name translated literally means "jumping flea" and is believed to refer to the quick movements of the performer's fingers whilst playing the instrument.
Refret
We can refret your ukelele with a plain unbound fingerboard or a lacquered maple board (includes re-lacquer). We service and repair bound fingerboard or bound fingerboard with enclosed fret-ends (Gibson style). Also dressing, stoning and polishing services.
Headstock repairs
Ukulele necks and headstocks repaired. Glueing, splinting and spraying as necessary on all string instruments.

The importance of the ukulele in Hawaiian music and culture was cemented by King Kalakaua, who as patron of the arts made sure that the instrument was incorporated into performances in all royal gatherings. Thus, the small guitar like instrument gained enormous popularity in its home country which quickly spread in the early 20th Century into the USA and from there internationally.
The popularity of the ukulele cannot be underplayed. It is an instrument that is linked to numerous artists throughout the years, some surprisingly.
